  Instruments and accessories may be securely purchased On line with a USA Credit Card or PayPal using our shopping cart feature, use the drop down menus to choose options.

Will you sell or ship items to Customers located in Canada or Internationally?
  No: Guitar Stop does not sell and ship items to Canada or Internationally.

Due to our dealer agreements with the Manufacturers of the items we sell, we are only allowed to ship items in the Continental USA. 

All orders are manually processed.  Canadian and International orders are not processed and are cancelled.

 

May I purchase an item w/ a Canadian or International Credit Card?
  NO: Items ordered Online or by Phone may only be purchased w/ a USA credit card.

Due to our credit card processing agreements, Guitar Stop is only allowed to accept a USA credit card that has the cardholder's billing address within the Continental USA, to purchase items that are ordered online or by phone.

Canadian or International Credit cards are accepted for in store purchases only. 

Why aren't all the available options listed in the drop down menus ?
  If an item is out of store stock it is removed from the drop down menus. Only in stock items are available for purchase with the shopping cart.
   
How do I purchase an item that is out of store stock?
  Guitar Stop is an Authorized Dealer for: Alvarez, Fender, Gretsch, Ibanez, Squier, and Traveler.  We are able to order anything from these companies. If the item you want is in stock with the manufacturer, it takes approximately 10 days to arrive at Guitar Stop from the day the order is placed.

Any item not in store stock is considered a Special Order.

Special Orders :
  Any item not in store stock is considered a special order.
All special orders require a 20% non-refundable deposit. If you do not like the item, you will be refunded all but the 20% deposit & shipping cost. If the item is damaged or defective, we will repair or replace it with exactly the same model item.

The Balance is due the day the special order arrives at Guitar Stop.

How long does it take to process an order?
  All orders are manually processed within 24 hours. If the item you ordered is in store stock it will be shipped the same day if possible or the next business day. An Email Confirmation including the tracking number (if shipped by UPS) is sent once the item has shipped.

What do I do if the item is damaged in Shipping?
  Check the item the day you receive it to make sure it arrived safely. In the unlikely event that the item was damaged in shipping call Guitar Stop  immediately, (617) 876-0687 in the Boston Area or (888) 876-0680 Toll Free. 
Repack the item in all the original packaging.

Return Policy:
 

7 Day Return Policy Full refund of the purchase price*. 

Guitar Stop must receive the item in the same condition with all packaging and original sales receipt or subject to a minimum 10% restocking fee.

Refunds of the purchase price* and an e-mail confirmation are processed the day Guitar Stop receives the item(s).

No Refund after 7 days.

All returned items will be charged a shipping and handling fee each way

Call Guitar Stop for an RA# within 7 days of receiving your order . Returns are not accepted without an RA#

US Priority Mail shipped items:  
ship the order insured back to: Guitar Stop 1760 Mass Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140 
A full refund minus the initial shipping charge will be processed
and an e-mail confirmation will be sent the day the order is received.

UPS shipped items: Guitar Stop will mail you a return shipping label.  Repack the order in all the original packaging.  Once you receive the return label bring your order to any UPS drop off center.  
All returned items will be charged a shipping and handling fee each way.  

Orders $199.99 or less will be charged the initial shipping and handling charge each way 
Orders $200 or over will be charged $25 each way =  $50 total.  

A full refund minus shipping and handling charge will be processed and an e-mail confirmation will be sent the day the order is received.

Warranty:
  Guitar Stop is an authorized Dealer for: 
Alvarez, Fender, Gretsch, Ibanez, Squier and Traveler 
New Guitars and Amplifiers are backed by the full Manufacturer's warranty.
All items are backed by Guitar Stop's warranty: 30 days parts - 1 year labor

Service:
  Warranty service on new items may be obtained by any authorized service center for Alvarez,  Fender, Gretsch, Ibanez, Squier and Traveler. You must have your original sales receipt to obtain warranty service.

Guitar Stop is an Authorized Fender, Gretsch and Squier Service Center.

Minor repairs are done at Guitar Stop 7 days a week which includes: restringing, set-ups, intonation and neck adjustments.

Electrical and major repairs are done at Guitar Stop on Sundays only, from 12:00 - 6:00.

Set-up:
  New guitars are set up, intonated and inspected.

Used guitars are set up with a new set of strings, intonated and inspected.

All guitars are detuned 1/2 a step for shipping.

Trade-In Guarantee
  Every instrument Guitar Stop sells comes with a *75% trade-in guarantee.

If you keep the instrument in good shape and retain the sales receipt, you may trade the item within a year from purchase, for a guaranteed *75% of what you paid for the item towards anything else in the store.

The 75% trade-in value is for merchandise credit only.

* Trade-in guarantee does not include Sales tax, special orders and shipping cost 
($25 for Internet orders over $200).

Trades:
  Items not purchased from Guitar Stop
  Guitar Stop determines the retail value of your item. 75% of the retail value of your item may be traded towards any item in the store.

We will tell you the exact amount we are able to allow in trade.

If you do not live in the Boston area:
Email guitarstop@hotmail.com a description of the item you wish to trade. We will email you an estimate of how much we would be able to allow you in trade.

You will have to pay to ship the item to Guitar Stop.

Are your prices negotiable?:
  All in store prices are final prices. We do not haggle on prices.

The way Guitar Stop prefers to do business is to give everyone the best deal that we are able to every time.

Lessons:
  Individual lessons are given at Guitar Stop, during store hours, Monday thru Saturday 10- 6, Wednesday and Thursday 10 - 8 and Sunday 12-6. The instructor gears the lesson towards the needs of the individual student, teaching a basis of theory in the style of music the student is interested in.

A one lesson security deposit is required to make an appointment for the first lesson, $40 per hour or $20 per 1/2 hour. The security deposit may be left with a credit card over the phone:

Snow Cancellation policy
 Guitar Stop's policy on closing due to bad weather in the winter months is when 
Cambridge Public Schools or a Snow Emergency is declared, all lessons are cancelled.   
Please call the store at 617 876-0687 and listen for messages to see if there are any cancellations due to storms.
